32 Weeks Check Up

Published by suzette at 1:22 pm under All,Isabel

Yesterday went for my 32-week check up at gynae’s place.

In the past 1 week, I’ve been having a lot of discomfort, mostly around my pelvic bones and torso muscles.

Was having this loose joints around the pelvic area.  At night when waking up from bed, always give loud noices when I move around – cracking sounds, like the bones are falling apart.

Then my back and stomach muscles are feeling very sore, and a lot of tightenings.  On Monday when I was having lunch, I suddenly had this sharp cramp pain – just like period pain.  Been unable to stand up straight or even walk short distance in the last few days.

Yesterday, when I told doc about this, he said I have been working too much –> walked too much.  I need to rest more, otherwise may lead to premature delivery.  32-week is too early, and I need to really watch out.

When I told him about the treasure walk-a-hunt I did 2 weeks ago, which I walked more than 2 hours in a mall, I was scolded by him.  He thought I should have negotiated with my boss (but actually I like to participate too also mah!).  :p  Actually when I was in SH week before the treasure hunt, I walked a lot too, when I was shopping at XiangYang market.  :D

Then, later, when doctore checked my baby’s size, she is BIG, at the size of 34.5 weeks’ size.  Doc also concerned about this, coz if she is too big, I may have difficulties to give birth.

So, I’ll need to watch out for two things:
1) monitor the pain in my stomach – sign of early contraction.  Rest well.
2) cut down on sugar intake, to help bb size (though not much else I can do now)

Doc said, he will monitor the size, if beyond 3.5kg, I may need to go for induced labour.  But at the same time, cannot deliver too early too, coz don’t want pre-mature baby.  36-week is better.

Another 4 weeks.  Baby, please hang on ya?!

      Jane here from MMB.

You should rest more and try to stay in bed if possible. Maybe you should take early maternity off, so that your work will not trigger preterm labour.

As for myself, as the pregnancy progresses, bb is moving and kicking more vigorously. Whenever he kicks or moves, it causes pain either below my ribs or at the vaginal. Lying down is the best position for me to avoid all these pain. I also feel less energy nowadays to even walk for 500m. Getting lazier nowadays..haha..

Anyway, hope your bb is not that impatient to see the world.

Your baby’s big! Better be careful, some big baby comes out early. My neighbour’s DIL delivered at 34 weeks, premature but weight more that 3kg with a head size 2 weeks in advance. So, don’t walk too much liao.
Me the opposite, baby’s not big, but I also didn’t be active during this pregnancy.

Mamabok/MG/egghead/jane: thanks for the concern… I’m trying to rest or lay down as much as possible. The only problem is to do with work. After the last episod (last year) with my boss, I dare not to work from home already. So, this is a rather tough period. Sitting up for too long doesn’t help at all. :( I might ask her again today… wish me luck.

Jason: :p I asked my doc, isn’t walking a good exercise, and his answer was: ‘not if it gives you this kind of pain’. Well, when I was doing my walk, I didn’t have the pain mah. The pain only comes in, after cummulated — after 2 weeks! :p

shopping mum: Ya loh, she is big, and I am worried. Doc also said the same thing, big babies pop out earlier leh!
