Last Wed, when I was having meeting in Regent KL, someone sms my boss to inform that a colleague (an angmo lady) died in the office.

It was a real shock, coz she seemed to be healthy and has healthy lifestyle.  We all suspected it could be DVT, coz she is a frequent flyer.  Well, who in our company is not frequent flyer?  Almost everyone.  But she flied long haul a lot.

On the day of incident, she just flew 10 hours from Australia.  After reaching home in the morning, she went straight to the office and worked.  Before noon, she suddenly collapsed and passed away.  Her post mortem showed dark sports in her lung, whch made us even suspect more on DVT.

It has reminded all of us to be more vigilant when it comes to traveling and watch out for signs of DVT:
- always use support socks, especially for long distance traveling
- avoid alcoholic drinks on the plane
- drink more water
- walk regularly on the plane, not to sit too long
- etc.

Two days ago, I had to work late to rush something.  By the time I left the office, most of the lights were off already.  Somewhat, after that incident, I became chicken hearted.  I was very scared when I walked to the car park alone (scared of ghost lah! someone died in the office wor).  :p  Hope I don’t have to work late again, very scary ler…

Today, I’ve finally received the official document stating that I got my job in the recent re-org.

And, the good news is, due to the re-org, my job is upgraded to another job group, and I got an automatic promotion without having to justify for it.

But, what is disappointed to me is, the promotion only gives me a salary increment of a pathetic 3%.  Yes, 3%!!!!  I just couldn’t believe it.

Since joining this company, my annual increment is already low, in the range of 3 to 3.25%.  And now, I was hoping the promotion will give me better increment, but THREE PERCENT only!  Is even lower than the inflation rate in Malaysia!

I really feel miserable now.  Sob, sob, sob.  Why lah the company so stingy?!

p/s: See, being a typical human, I know I am greedy.  I was worried about losing my job earlier, and now got my job, but complaint not enough increment.  Hahaha!  :p  :p

Dec last year, I bought a new set of Avent breast pump, getting ready for my #2 to arrive.

I actually already have a set of Avent, heavily used for Ian, until he was around 16 months old.  Somehow, the inner part of the plastic body always has white deposits.  SF shared with me that the Medela Quick Clean Wipe can remove them easily, but unfortunately it is discontinued.  :(  So, I bought another set, as I am not confident in using that dirty looking pump on the new born.

Then, I read from MMB that Avent’s dealers have spare parts to sell.  I called up, found out that to replace the body is only RM61.90.  So, I’ve got it replaced last week.  The dealer told me that my pump is actually caused by improper cleaning –> use of too strong detergent and with too much/hard scrubs.

Now, I have a half-used half-new Avent.  I don’t want to keep that new Avent set.  I want to sell it to recover some cost.  It is still in its original packaging, I haven’t unwrapped it yet.

In Malaysia, it is sold at market price of RM220 or 230 (I can’t remember), and I bought it at SG80+ from Singapore (Around RM180).  I am now asking for RM170, if anyone is interested.  It comes in a set of Avent Isis breast pump and two 4oz Avent bottles.

Really appreciate if you can kindly help me to spread the words, so I can recover some cost.  Really pok-kai already…  :p

Update (7 Apr 7pm): I found a buyer already through my friends!  Will be delivering the pump to her at 8pm tonight and collect cash from her!  :D 

Yesterday night, when putting Ian to sleep, Ian crawled over my body, and slept at the edge of the bed.  I told him to sleep inside, and I said “… you will fall down!”

He answered me in a desperate tone: “I want, I want fall down!”

After explaining to him that ‘fall down’ will make him ‘pain-pain’, he still insisted that he ‘wants fall down’.  Really speechless…

This will be a busy week for me too.  I will be out for full day meeting outside the office from Tue to Thu.  Though I will be in KL, but no time to blog.  So, no more updates till I come back again, either Friday or next week.
