Sleep Talking (发开口梦)

Published by suzette at 9:56 am under All,Ian

Lately Ian has been talking in his sleep almost every night.

The first night was last Saturday (or Sunday morning). At around 1am, I heard him yelling something I didn’t understand. Slowly, it became clearer, and it was… “… seven, eight, nine, ten!”.

After ‘ten’, he went silent and sound asleep again.

Then at around 5 or 6 am, again I heard him shouting, “Nan nan! Nan nan! Nan nan!… “, with his eyes still closed and still lying down. But what really funny was, he kept pointing his finger upwards (towards the ceiling).

Up to the 3rd or 4th times, his hand gesture became more aggressive and hit me. That made him woke up.

He sat up, then came to me and pushed me. Now talked in a clearer manner: “nan nan, nan nan…”

In the following nights, EVERY night, he would yell in his dream, sat up – kick and hit me aggressively. I have to avoid him and don’t make any noise. He would then suddenly be silent and back to sleep! I don’t know what was in his dream, really puzzled. If I talk to him during his aggressive moments, it would wake him up and difficult to sleep back.

Been suffering a lot lately, coz I just couldn’t sleep well, with his aggressive martial arts in his dream. :p

Well with my 4 year old son, I do make sure that I don’t play with him just before he goes to sleep. Say around an hour before he goes to sleep?

Yeah, my son would have all sorta dreams and nightmares if he enjoys, laughs like mad and plays like hell just about when he sleeps.

msau: ya, i believe the games they played during the day causes the night talking too. but what to do? just be careful not to be hit by them on our stomach, hor…

egghead: haha, i worried the same too. when he is awake, easier to tell him, but when he is sleeping, very hard. so have to be very careful myself…

king’s wife: maybe dreaming about people bullying them? :)

P: Ya, I think your strategy may work. That’s why old folks always say don’t play before sleep. but my Ian har… you don’t play with him, he can self entertain. :p
