Cutting Ian’s Hair

I just shaved Ian bald on Monday.

It is so difficult to cut his hair, coz he is paranoid of the scissors and the shaver. The moment we touched his hair, he sensed it, and kept asking to see our hands for signs of tools.

As such, instead of trimming his hair, I’ve decided to shave him botak, so I don’t have to go through this hassle every month. I guess with this, probably can last me for at least 3 months?

But due to the struggle, even botak also a lot of ‘holes’ here and there. Ian really looks awful at first. Have to carefully trim during every bath time, and must do it not obviously, so he won’t notice.

All tricks were out, but useless: mirror, Barney movies, toys, holding him tight, candy, etc. Nothing helps. Just hope that during CNY, his hair can look better. :p

      When he sleeps? Tie his hands and legs to chair and cut?

      I remembered when I took my son to the barber to cut his hair bald (well not clean shave bald but botak lar!), I had to carry and all the hair was on me. Not only him that has to bath but me too (is as though I went for a hair cut too!) Hai yo.

      Having hair too short or plainly bald is no good. Like my son he likes to play under the son alot so it’s not good for him to have short hair cause I wouldn’t want him to be prone to head aches which can lead to long term migraine and what not or in the future he’ll easily get headaches.

      Also, soft hair looks so much nicer (eventhough he’s a boy) and bouncier! Hehehe …

      Don’t think can do this when he sleeps, where will the hair go? and the sound will definitely wake him up. Tieing him? Actually by holding him tight is as good as tying his hands and legs - you can’t tie his head, can you?

      P: ya, when I cut his hair, I think I get more hair over my body than him! :p

      MamaBok: no choice ler… but many said he looks better with botak. :)
      The only problem is, his botak is really uneven - that’s the comment I received most. :p
