Durex Global Sex Survey Result
Read this.
The most interesting part about the survey result is that it reveals that 44% of Malaysians have sex in the toilet, apart from the bedroom.
I don’t buy it at all. I am in market research (survey) line, and I think there are a lot of things to doubt the result. The top 3 questions I have in mind are:
1) Who were interviewed?
2) How these respondents were approached?
3) How the question was asked – can that lead to fantasy rather than the real thing?
44% is really high, too high to believe. Furthermore, the other things also doubtful: 24% in parents bedroom?! –> How many respondents are living with parents?
I would want to know their sample profile too. I want to see whether it matches the general Malaysian’s population.
Also, would there be respondents that say: “I only have it in my bedroom, no other places”? I believe there are, but has the result included this group of people? From the number, I suspect they have re-based the answers by removing this group of people. So, the base they are looking at could be too small and not reliable.
I hate reading survey reports without the full facts. Very misleading.

most likely the survey is conducted in the pub or disco areas
At first I too wasn’t convince of the survey’s result. But then, toilet and cars does seem to be the ‘convenient’ place for those who can’t afford hotels and don’t have their own place. And the average age of ppl starting having sex is 19 !….maybe young ppl nowadays got different ‘style’…;p
三句不离本行…
Toilet??? yeak… can you DO that in a smelly placelike that?? or… maybe hotel BATHROOM with jakuzzi is different, hehe
ok then conduct your own survey then :p
egghead: i think maybe they use mail survey? so only people want to discuss sex would respond. :p
iNsunN: but if they exclude those who only do in the bedroom, let’s say 50% only do in the bedroom, they only have another 50% of sample. Then if in realilty, only 20% would do in toilet, after they rebase it on the 50% sample, they can blow it up up to 40%. So I disagree with their reporting method loh.
jason: ya lah, what to do? 职业病
lockee: maybe their own bathroom lah. that is also another thing to comment: most of the malaysians also calls bathroom as toilet – coz usually they are in the same room. So, i think you are right, the answer could be bathroom rather than toilet, right?
Conduct my own? YOu know how much to cost or not? Can be up to RM100k, you pay me to do?
i donch believe in surveys too much.. : ) but that’s just me.. heh!!
i agree with you that survey’s result can be very misleading without the profile of the respondents. I used to do survey too, sometimes in order to make work easy, we “select” our respondents and therefore it’s biase…!! and does not represent the REAL situation…
44% is a little too high. But sometimes when it comes, it comes. And normally it comes when we’re not at home, so might as well did it outside. LOL! But I hope those people won’t make the toilet dirty because of this.
