Barney and Mama

Lately we bought a few VCDs of Barney and Friends, and let Ian watch.

Here are a couple of interesting scenes after he watched the movies…
———
When he first watched the VCD, he cried and pointed at the screen. DH later found out that Ian wanted Barney to COME OUT from the TV and play with him!
———
Don’t know for what reasons, he now points at Barney and calls it ‘Mama’. Do I look like Barney? *Puzzled*

Among all cartoons, why does it have to be the purple dinosour? Eeessh, why not Sesame Street? Smurfs? Gundams? Transformers? Pink Panther? Powerpuff girls? Why the purple dinosour?!

“I love you, you love me, we are a happy family…” -sweat-

i think barney’s a great show although incomparable to sesame street and the ‘old school’ stuff.

i used to watch it with my lil brothers when they were wee toddlers, and i still had a thing or two learn from them! (i was in secondary school by then)

      it beats teletubbies anyway. =)

Once I was so sick of that purple dinasaur because kids at home were so addicted to it. Now they watch other cartoon. At least can see characters with different colours!
Maybe Ian says “Bar bar”, but sounds like mama…;)

jason: actually there is a lot to learn from barney, a lot of value and manners etc. :)

iNsunN: I bought a barney soft toy before getting the vcd. he disliked the soft toy before watching the show. now okay with it, slightly. :D

      egghead: no woh, strange how?

DG: at least your girl calls it correctly!

      Fashinasia: :D that’s true…

keem: you are right! there is so much to learn. I too, still learnt new things from watching the vcd. I like the way they show kids the good manners. this is far better than watching the violent cartoons that smashes characters head into a pancake, then pop the head back to normal. Isn’t it :)

shopping mum: never mind lah, if addicted then they can watch quietly without bothering you. :p

      mama22beas: I know! LOL! :D :D :D :D :p

Most kids likes Barney because they have so many catchy songs in the program. Another kid show that even I love is call Backyardigans. It’s in 3D animations about a bunch of cute animals playing in their backyards using their imaginations. Funny cause Ethan doesn’t seem to enjoy it as much as I do. Not sure if Astro have the program or not…but you can it out here… http://www.nickjr.com/home/shows/backyardigans/about/back_about_show.jhtml

Mindy: Yup, those songs really catch Ian’s attention. I don’t have ASTRO at home, but I don’t think Backyardigans is shown here. Actually Ian likes shows with real human, he enjoys watching silly shows like Mr Bean (I hate this), but things like Bob the Builder, Mickey Mouse, Winnie the Pooh –> he doesn’t like! Strange isn’t it?

TM: LOL, yes my colleagues said that too. Some said he could be shouting ‘mama’, as a way to call me to watch or something like that. But I don’t know which theory is correct. Ian always ignore me at home, I don’t know whether he really would invite me to watch with him or not ler. :)
