Cry, Push, Yell, Fight in Hair Cut

Published by Lazy Bone under All, Ian

I saw msau cutting SQ’s hair so easily. She just placed SQ on a potty and then ta-da-da-da, SQ’s hair was trimmed already.

With my son, it is really difficult. Every hair cut session is like a battle. 3 persons are required, minimum.

One to hold him tight, one to cut, one to entertain and distract him.

The last session was done by just DH and me. We switched on the TV showing his favorite program, then placed him on his little chair. While he was happily watching, suddenly he felt us cutting his hair – waaaaaah, battle started again.

He cried lah, pushed us lah, screamed lah – I feel so heart pain seeing him cried like that. He wanted to hug me and wanted me to rescue him, but I have to turn him down… :(

So, in the past we have to distract him with things that he has never played before, even small pieces of metal/plastic is fine! See how he used to be distracted, and his crying face when it was done.

Desa Park City – Buyers Racial Profile

Published by Lazy Bone under All, DPC, Mumbles

I have always drooled to get a house in DPC, but just can’t understand why it is so expensive since it is seated in Kepong area.

It is in the triangle of Kepong Baru, Kepong Menjalara and Kepong Maluri. But the price is like Damansara’s price.

Anyway, this morning my friend sent me this link about the buyers’ profile of their phase 1A and 1B. We guess Phase 1A is Safa Terrace and 1B is Nadia.

Safar Terrace only has 135 units, and 92% buyers are Chinese.
Nadia has 165 double/triple storey houses (no data for the 246 condo units yet), 89% buyers are Chinese.

We wonder where these Chinese are from… I guess they are mostly from Kepong/Jinjang/Selayang or at least stayed in Kepong area before.

If you are a DPC buyer reading this post now, and is a Chinese, please let us know where were you from? :D

Irritating Junk Mails With Large Attachments

Published by Lazy Bone under All, Mumbles

I am quite slow with my blog reading. Today only read about 5xmom’s Email Forwards.

I also hate junk mails a lot, especially junk mails with large attachments when I am traveling.

During travel, I have to work on emails at night (daytime usually occupied with meetings). Imagine: me, sitting in front of my machine at 1am, waiting for my emails to be downloaded, and these junk mail with 3MB each jammed the traffic… I often have to let the machine run for 2 hours, before I can start work at 3am.

The big files usually are transforms of simple 10 sentences advice/poem/rubbish into big huge PowerPoint full of pictures. When that happens, I really curse the sender. Don’t expect me to read those at that hour – so I normally just delete them without reading.

Sorry if you happen to be one of my readers, I am just being frank with you and let you know how I feel and how inconvenient it has caused to me.

Another story to share re junk mails – how I have innocently offended my friend.

3 years ago when I took a long leave to attend my wedding, before I left I sent an email to my friends to inform them about my long absence and urged them not to send any junk mails as it may flood my inbox when I return to work. That email was sent to ALL my friends.

One fella replied with anger, and claimed that he has never and will not send me junk mails, and he is so upset with my note that he will not send me ANY emails in the future. We stopped communicating in mails after that.

Such an over sensitive person! A man some more. NVM lah, if he can’t take that kind of notification email, I don’t think he is an understanding friend anyway, no loses at my end.

How to Keep (my) Toddler Occupied During Dinners?

Published by Lazy Bone under All, Ian, Parenting

When we bring Ian out for food, the most effective ways to stop him from making noise are:
- feed him liquid (water/soup/etc) with a spoon/cup; or
- give him a piece of tissue paper

Ian is so weird. He only drinks 2 things from his bottle: milk and plain water. If we put anything else, he would reject. Soymilk, barley, fruit juice, etc – all being rejected in bottles.

So, if we want to give him any other liquid, we have to feed with a spoon or cup. He loves it very much, seeing it as a game for him. If I stop giving him liquid in spoon/cup, he would cry!

Therefore, whenever he starts making noise in a dinner, this is a good way to keep him occupied for a while. The only downside is, I will be quite occupied as well – he just won’t let me stop feeding him water with spoon, and I just can’t eat!

So, the second method now comes in handy. We give him a piece of tissue paper, and he will play with it for quite a while – record is 2 hours! He tears the tissue paper into very tiny pieces, one piece at a time, and throws it on the floor. He enjoys seeing the tiny piece sticks on his little fat fingers, and then rubs his fingers so the tiny pieces fall – and he enjoys seeing how they fall on the floor!
Of course, the downside is, after the dinner ends our table is usually the dirtiest table, with all tiny tissue paper pieces.

Outing with Ian

Published by Lazy Bone under All, Ian

Last – last weekend (cheh!), we brought Ian to Genting. Actually not my idea, it was all MIL and FIL insisted that we joined them. This is really not a right place for us – I don’t gamble and Ian is too young to enjoy the games. So, Ian slept most of the time.

Anyway, we came across this shop that sells little gadgets, like souvenir and some apparels. I found this chicken soft toy quite nice, and probably I don’t do much shopping nowadays I have never seen it in KL. Ian quite like it – well he has never liked any soft toys, guess it is natural for a boy. When I checked the price – wow, RM80 for that little ‘I Love You’ chicken. Of course I didn’t pay for it.

The same evening when we were home, I brought Ian to the playground in my apartment. This has been DH’s job all these while, and I didn’t know Ian knows how to rock himself on a seesaw! I really love seeing his happy face rocking the seesaw… :D
